A difficult call doesn’t get to define your day.
Find the lesson, then choose a manageable next step.
Write what happened
Describe the event without a judgment about yourself. “The buyer chose to stay with their provider” is a fact. “I am terrible at sales” is a conclusion that the event does not establish.
Find one useful piece of information
Did you learn something about the account, the timing, the offer, or your questions? If the reason is unknown, leave it unknown. You do not need to invent a story.
Choose a small next step
Update your notes, take a break, prepare one question, or follow through on a commitment. Pick something you can complete and control.
Look across conversations
One call is a small sample. Review patterns over time with a manager or trusted peer, and practice a specific skill when the evidence suggests it would help.
One thing to try.
Use the Mindset reset to separate the event, your interpretation, and your next action.
Put it into practice
