## Prepare for a sales conversation with AI in 15 minutes

Create an evidence-based call brief, useful discovery questions, and a realistic next step without inventing facts about the buyer or automating unsolicited outreach.

### Minutes 1–4: gather the facts you actually have

Create a one-page call brief using only the supplied information. Separate confirmed facts, hypotheses to test, and unknowns. Cite the source or CRM note for each fact. Do not infer budget, authority, urgency, personality, or private circumstances. Finish with three questions that would most improve our understanding. Call purpose and sources: [paste].

### Minutes 9–11: prepare a short, honest opening

Review this opening and discovery plan as a skeptical buyer. Highlight unsupported assumptions, leading questions, jargon, and places where I start pitching too early. Rewrite the opening in natural language and recommend four questions, with a reason for each. Keep the buyer free to disagree or redirect. Brief and draft: [paste].

### Your exercise

1. Prepare a brief for one upcoming conversation using only approved, traceable information.
2. Rehearse a thirty-second opening and select four discovery questions.
3. After the call, record one assumption you corrected and one genuinely agreed next step.

### Review checklist

- [ ] Facts, hypotheses, and unknowns are clearly separated.
- [ ] Questions invite explanation without presuming a problem.
- [ ] The opening gives the buyer room to redirect.
- [ ] CRM updates and follow-up commitments reflect the actual conversation.

## Practice objections with AI that will actually challenge you

Design realistic sales role-plays that reward listening, accurate claims, and honest qualification instead of making every imaginary buyer agree with you.

### Make the simulation resist easy agreement

Role-play a fictional buyer considering [offer]. Your situation is [role, process, constraints]. Choose one plausible concern and keep it consistent. Reveal details only when I ask useful questions. Give one short buyer response at a time. Do not agree merely because I sound confident. Challenge unsupported promises, and allow no fit to be the outcome. Stay in role until I say debrief.

### Use a scorecard that makes criticism specific

Debrief the role-play using my actual words. Assess listening, question quality, factual accuracy, relevance, and respect for the buyer's choice as missed, partial, or demonstrated. Cite a specific exchange for each judgment. Identify my weakest response, explain why, and give two improved alternatives. Do not praise vague confidence or equate a sale with good practice.

### Your exercise

1. Run three five-minute scenarios: budget constraint, implementation concern, and genuine lack of fit.
2. Request an evidence-based debrief and replay your weakest exchange.
3. Choose one listening behavior to practice in your next real conversation.

### Review checklist

- [ ] The scenario is fictional or properly anonymized.
- [ ] The buyer can decline without the simulation forcing a win.
- [ ] Feedback cites actual responses and supported facts.
- [ ] Real follow-ups use verified information and human review.
